The Story
Bella and her sister Lucy are inseparable, two pups with one heart. But Bella has always been an anxious little dog, one who shakes and worries and barks at closed doors. Then one day, a warm glow begins to grow inside her, and Bella knows she must go on a journey to understand what it means.

Along the way, she meets five wise animals who each share a lesson that changes her forever. An alligator teaches her patience. A cow shows her contentment. A monkey reminds her to find joy. A bear reveals that true strength lives in gentleness. And a bison helps her understand that love is bigger than one lifetime.

With every lesson, Bella reflects on her life. And with every memory, her light grows brighter.

When her glow is finally complete, Bella returns home to keep her promise, not as she was before, but as something eternal. A star shining bright in the night sky, watching over her sister forever.

Bella’s Light is a tender, hopeful story for families navigating pet loss. It gently reminds children that love never disappears. It simply transforms into a light that stays with us always.

The Inspiration
One evening, Bella developed a cough, and we brought her to an overnight emergency clinic. We left believing she was fine. Weeks later, we woke to find her in pain and knew something was terribly wrong. Despite emergency surgery and every effort to save her, we lost her to a condition we never knew she had. One day she seemed fine. The next, she was gone. We came home shattered, and out of that grief came Bella’s Light… a tribute to her, and a reminder for anyone who has loved and lost a pet that some lights never go out. They simply change form.

Bella was real.
She was taken too soon.
